Back in 2022 the government put forward the Building the Right Support Action Plan.
The Building the Right Support Action Delivery Board working on this plan spent months collating feedback from parents, reading existing reports and position statements from support groups and collating information to write the “What good looks like” report.
mASCot was identified in this feedback and we were asked to be interviewed about how we supported parents and how we are getting it right.
In September 2023 the report came out.
Parents were asked who supported them and Community groups across the country were looked at, mASCot made the final report as one of the community groups achieving “What good looks like”.
How amazing is that.
The report opens with
“In our consultation with people with lived experience we spoke to no-one who had experienced anything that was consistently good. In the darkness of the system, people experienced only pinpricks of light.
In all these instances professionals acted despite the system. This co-produced report has therefore sought to highlight these examples of good practice and draw out key principles that can be applied more widely”
