Social Narrative Course Part 2
Fri 23rd Feb 2018
10.00am - 1.00pm
mASCot Centre
This course helps you understand the principles behind social stories/narratives a bit better? Most of us have heard of them, we've certainly come across them used at school - but do you know how to create and use them.
Becca Dyer (ASC specialist who runs the fab ASC art club) has done a lot of training in this area, knows her stuff and uses these devices all the time in her work supporting kids with ASC.
The course breaks down the principles; gives enough depth to help parents really understand how and why they work (when done well!); help them spot the social stories that don't work; AND will demonstrate how these can be created at home to support a really wide range of issues.

Open Chat Morning: Learn more about the skill Exchange
Mon 26th March 2018
mASCot Centre
An opportunity to pop into the centre and have a chat together about the mASCot Skill Exchange project that will be kicking off very soon!

The SKILL EXCHANGE - WHAT IS IT?!
We know that there is an enormous amount of parent/carer experience within the mASCot membership. Lots of people contribute so much already via the mASCot Facebook group. We think that there is a way to harness this people power so that we can all support each other even better. Our ambition is to develop an ever growing volunteer ‘Skill Exchange Bank of mASCot Minds’. As more members join, we will, over time pull together a matrix of ‘Go To’ individuals that can then support others in need on a wide range of ASC issues.

This coffee morning is for all and every level of interest, whether you just want to find out how it's going to work OR whether you're interested to sign up for the training. ALL WELCOME!
